A popular Louisville brewery is closing one of its taprooms in the coming months.
TEN20 Craft Brewery will close its Douglass Loop location in the Highlands at 2200 Bardstown Road when the lease expires in April. The brewer moved into the space in 2022, replacing a Heine Brothers’ Coffee location that operated at that location for 21 years.
Jim McGuire, TEN20 co-founder, told Louisville Business First in a phone conversation that TEN20 decided not to renew its lease and planned to focus on upgrading its flagship location at 1020 E. Washington St. in Butchertown.
TEN20 also operates taprooms at 11505 Park Road in Anchorage, and 1400 Main St. in Clarksville, Indiana.
The more than 2,300-square-foot Douglass Loop property is owned by La Voyageur Inc., according to Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator’s records. It is currently listed for lease by TRIO Commercial Property Group.

TEN20 provided LBF with a press release concerning the decision to close the Highlands location. It read, in part:
“We’ve cherished every moment of the past couple of years. Now, with the decision date approaching and our lease expiring in April, we’ve made the decision to focus our future attention on developing our original site in Butchertown with investments in our food offerings and much-anticipated game room.
“Stay tuned for more details and exciting announcements about those developments in the coming weeks.”
TEN20’s flagship location opened in Butchertown in 2020, with its first satellite taproom opening in Anchorage in 2021. The New Albany location opened in early 2024.
TEN20 beers will still be available in the Highlands neighborhood at local restaurants as well as the Highland Mart at 1351 Bardstown Road, Liquor World at 1779 Bardstown Road, and Party Mart 3050 Bardstown Road.
